We are a composer and artist couple who live in a large renovated church hall in the Rondout section of Kingston, just up the street from restaurants, marinas, art galleries, boating, kayaking, and easy drives to hikes and swimming or skiing. We are perfectly situated less than 20 minutes drive from Woodstock, Bard College, Rhinebeck, Rosendale, mountain lakes and waterfalls. Organic coffee and teas are included along with highspeed WIFI internet access. The home is filled with beautiful abstract expressionist paintings. "The Library Retreat" is on the ground floor with easy access to the bathrooms. The room has a very comfy queen sized canopy bed, a single bed and a writing desk. With a "turn of the century" decor adorned with antiques and paintings one is instantly transported to another time of elegance, beauty and simplicity. Guests share 2 full bathrooms. The 2 guest baths includes a really powerful full pressured shower with a claw foot tub and a jacuzzi in the other bathtub. While we are generally working in our studios guests are welcome to come in for a tour. We've now been required by the county to collect a 2% room occupancy tax which we will collect when you arrive via check or cash. In addition to free organic coffee and tea s we are happy to prepare a delicious locally sourced home cooked breakfast for ten dollars per guest. On nice days we serve breakfast in the garden and in inclement weather guests gather around the farm table in the kitchen for breakfast.
Breakfast is served at 9AM and coffee and tea are available beforehand for early risers. The kitchen is closed @ 11AM. Smoking is permitted in the courtyard garden and not permitted indoors. Check in time is 4PM and check out is @ 11AM.
