The 25sqm offer you everything you might ask for: A brandnew, very comortable bathroom with shower, a "real" bed (160x200cm), a very functional kitchen with a combi-oven (mikrowave and oven), washing mashine und free WiFi.
You will just love it, when the sun shines through the huge windows and fills the Apartment with sunny brightness!
As we did all the decoration work ourselves we and used high quality materials and managed to include some very special detail-items like the Orange Cube itself, a small window that gives daylight to the bathroom and nice decoration-elements here and there.
Our Apartments and the building have quiet an interesting history:
From 2006 to 2008 the “LIRA 32″ has been famous as THE place-to-be for parties and experimental projects in Berlin. The front building was well-known as the “Flamingo Beach Lotel”, a project created by the artist Miss Marylou: From floor to ceiling every flat was decorated in different “barocco-kitsch styles”, each by a different artist. Then the rooms were used for big public parties and as hotelrooms – all with the purpose to offer unforgettable arty experiences to interested people and to low-budget travellers.
In November 2009 we “discovered” the Schiller-Kiez for us and fell in love with Li32. Within two weeks we managed to make our dream come true, collected all the money we had – and bought our apartments.
In spite of different problems we managed to reconstruct important parts of the building and our apartments within eight months – and we’re still working on it, even though we have to spend much more money into this as we thought when buying it. That’s the main reason we offer our apartments to you, our guests. But it’s worth it - we made our dreams come true having apartments of our own and try to rescue a bit of the “Flamingo Beach Lotel”-time: We want to leave as much of the graffities and paintings as possible. And of course the couple of pink flamingos on the right side of the building’s main entrance are as much “LIRA32-relicts” as the nice wall paintings called “Heissball” and “La vie en Rose” in the first courtyard or some of the art we found in our apartments and put on some walls again.
And maybe it also belongs to this building, that some of the apartments still host foreign guests and give tourists the opportunity to stay in this special place for a while.
Since the Airport was closed in fall of 2009 the “Schiller-Kiez” and Neukölln are changing a lot again: We have a very multi-culti neighborhood now, so everybody will feel at home rather soon. Lots of students, artists, young families and people from all over the world live here now. The typical “Berliner Eck-Kneipen”, the Biker-Pub “Bierbaum 3″, tatoo- and piercing-studios, “Trödel-shops” and the typical “Spät-Kaufs” exist in friendly neighbourhood to new restaurants, an enormous amount of little art-galleries, very individual and creative shops, schools, kindergarden, bio-market… – and they are getting more and more almost every week.
Every Saturday the bio-market takes place at the Herrfurth-Platz, the very original Cafés “Engels”, “Froillein Langner”, “Selig” or the ”Pappel Reihe” invite you for a coffee, breakfast or a little snack while you check your e-mails using their wifi. Several original Berlin Pubs offer you the local special drink “Futschi”, the new bars “Sowieso”, the "Heisenberg" and “Bruchberg” or the Airport’s Beergarden entertain you with partly spontaneous live-gigs and other arrangements. If you are the romantically type, just buy yourself some wine or beer, go to the incredible hugh former airfield, sit down, watch the amazing sunset and enjoy its unique atmosphere!
Moreover our “Kiez” is very close to the hippest places in Berlin. To reach the Reuter-Kiez in Kreuzberg, so-called “Kreuz-Kölln”, for example there’s only 3 stops by subway or 10min by bicycle. To Oranienstrasse, the heart of Kreuzberg, it is only 4 stops. Rixdorf is really astonishing: it was founded in June, 15th of 1737 and still looks like a village – right in the middle of Neukölln… not far away you find a former prison, that is now often used as scene for movie-productions… If you are rather into visiting the palaces in Potsdam or the “Botanischen Garden” you can get there quickly over the highway or take the S-Bahn nearby… A extraordinary walk will lead you to the ancient cemeteries we have nearby: there is a Christian, a old Jewish and a beautiful Muslim one – each of them very big and interesting to look at…There are so many places here around, you will find something interesting for every concern.
The LiRa32 is extremely good connected to all kinds of traffic.
Last but not least there is us. We are born here and know all the whereabouts in this town. So no matter, what You are looking for, we will bring you there and are happy to give You advice in many ways.
So, if you feel curious of getting to know this extraordinary places we’re happy to welcome you.
Don’t hesitate to contact us for further questions.
All the best and see you soon

Reviews for this host's other properties
Our hostess had not promised too much: We expected an apartment in a class of large, bright, newly renovated - bathrooms, stove, refrigerator, hardwood floors ... all the best! This much peace in the house and in the backyard. We enjoyed our stay, which also is thanks to our host, who was always accessible and approachable for us, if we so wished. Maybe (re) Kol (l) ner yes but a special breed of people? It was great! Thank you!
Vielen Dank!
We were with our two children 17 and 20 years in this great big well kept house. In a lively area with small eateries and restaurants. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to stay still and keep quiet. Middle of the city 5 min walk from the immense temple park where it is gorgeous. And 5 min walk to the subway. Overall a great place, good bed, good food, nice house. Elisabeth & Ruurt
Elisabeth & Ruurt
Very nice stay. Big and cozy apartment to a very affordable price.
We, two children and my father in law, had a nice stay at Uschi. The apartment is close the at U Bahn station and to Tempelhof flybahn, which is a area where the children can run/bike and play and the adults can relax.
We, family of four, spent a week in this lovely and huge apartment. 2 bedrooms a large living room/kitchen combined and a spaceous bathroom. A wonderfull and tastefully decorated apartment. Don't be alarmed about the graffiti and the missing tiles in the hallway.. In the kitchen there is everything you could possibly want. And if you don't want to prepare meals yourself, there is plenty of ethnic restaurants and cafees, "just around the corner" if you want to go "downtown" Berlin, take the U Bahn Leinestrasse, and you will be at Alex in 10 minutes. Uschi is a very nice and flexible host, she didn't mind my late arrival. This is much better, cosier and more homely than any hotel room. I am very satisfied and I wish it was possibel to reward this apartment (and Uschi) with more than five stars
Uschi and Rainer are super hosts, totally flexible and ready to help! The apartment is absolutely great and the location is awesome! Thanks for everything!
Uschi und Rainer sind super Gastgeber, total flexibel und hilfebereit! Die Wohnung ist der absolute Hammer und auch die Lage ist genial! Vielen Dank für alles!
We spent 3 days with our two children (12 & 15 years old) spent in this very well equipped apartment. The kitchen is truly a dream - it's all there, and the rest of the house leaves much to be desired - everything was as described. The hosts are very nice and helpful and the subway within 5 minutes walking distance. This runs every 10 minutes, so you ... in a few minutes at Alexanderplatz, the Bundestag is. Parking in front of the house are also available and in 3 minutes you are in the vast park "Tempelhof freedom". From the outside view of the house, you should not be impressed - the apartment itself and the hosts are perfect.
We spent 4 nights in this appartement with our 2 children, 6 and 9 years old. The appartment is huge, very convenient with 2 separate bedrooms, and extremely well equiped, specially the kitchen... Those who do not know Berlin should not be impressed by the tags outside the building and on the door ;) ; once in the appartment, you feel really at home, with maps of the city, city guides, WiFi access, etc. A very nice place, quiet, easy to park for free in front of the door, 5 mn walk from the subway which will lead you directly to Alexanderplatz. We highly recommand this nice appartment.
Very nice appartment in a quiet neighbourhood. It was easy to find the adress and it was possible to park outside the appartment. Lovely flat, and Templehof (park) within a short distance. 5 min walk to public transportation.
