Loved our stay in this cool SF artist's garret cum penthouse. It's much bigger than it looks on the photos; it actually takes quite a while to walk from one end of the apartment to the other! The bed is huge and comfy. The jacuzzi splendidly decadent and the view simply stunning.
The open bathroom arrangement is a bit strange, but as the place is so big, it really didn't cause us any problems. There is a shower attachment but as the roof slopes you can't stand up under it.
Our hosts, Nick and Laurence, were welcoming and helpful, and they seem to have thought of pretty much everything. It's a really comfortable place to stay and you feel pretty cool there too, as you lounge around drinking in the view of this fabulous city or sunbathing in front of the open window.
Not sure this place would be great for party animals. There is an expectation that you'll be quiet (being on the top floor and above everyone else). This was fine for us and meant that the whole building was v peaceful and quiet.
We thought the location of this apartment was great. Two mins walk to the Muni (10 mins to downtown from your front door) and historic F line streetcar and, on lots of other transport routes. If you walk a few hundred yards up the hill from the apartment you can get fabulous views from Corona Heights and Buena Vista parks. The Castro is also handy for the Mission, the Haight, painted ladies, Golden Gate Park, Twin Peaks and loads of other things you'll probably want to see.
The Castro was splendidly bonkers, and good fun, and welcoming for straight couples too. It's a far cry from Fisherman's Wharf, but you may just think that that's a good thing.
As already written by our predecessor both hosts couldn´t have been more kind and helpful. They provide as much information as possible in preparation of your trip and also during your stay, though we always had our privacy.
The location is perfect, convenient and calm neighbourhood, however in the middle of Castro with a good transport connection and many restaurants, bars and shops within splitting distance.
The appartment is clean and comfy, and, again, with a breathtaking view.
This room has the most amazing view of SF. The bed was so comfy we were sad to leave
The Castro is a great place to stay for transport links and is much better than downtown if you want to be close to Golden Gate Park and really feel SF.
Nick and Laurence are great hosts and are most helpful and welcoming.
The house is so Charming, five stars plus

Very unique and romantic place with magical view of the city!!! Everything is very special about it: Beautiful interior design where you find Marilyn Monroe smiling at you , comfortable and spacious bed, that will help you to recharge for up coming adventures, big bath tab, where you can warm up after foggy walks on Buena Vista, and of corse breath taking view will be there rather you having a cup of coffee in a morning or enjoying a bottle of wine at night. We fell in love with Attic as much as with neighborhood, full of restaurants, lil shops and famous Castro theater. Laurence is a wonderful host, hospitable and very thoughtful . I would definitely recommend this place for people who are looking for romance and a little bit of magic. Perfect for couples:)
Absolutely fantastic location, room, and host. Couldn't have been more kind or helpful. Heartily recommended.
Also we felt on the whole, with Nick and Laurence well. Going through the narrow spiral staircase up once you have a fantastic view over San Francisco. However, I can the words of a previous Bwertung then that the uninsulated roof represents some impairment. Especially in the morning when trying to shower (it has only the big tub in the attic, not so easy) one notices the lack of heating and it is quite fresh so wet in the tub. Wi-Fi is available and functioning more or less well. The road to Castro Station is very short and the connection to Downtown SF great, either by F-Streetcat-line or by underground Muni are great. We had no car but have bought us this Muni Passports, doing great. Best buy immediately upon arrival at the airport. And from the airport, we let go of a public van from the company "Go Lorries". Is stress free and goes from door to door. All in all a great time. Thanks to Nick and Laurence
Danke an Nick & Laurence
We enjoyed the stay very much, it was all the descriptions entsprechend.Der host was very accommodating. Small drawbacks: The roof is not insulated, and in San Francisco it can be very cool at night, then it shows up in the morning. The same applies to very sunny weather, then it can be very hot. Stair climb to the roof only suitable for slim / fit people, very narrow / steep spiral staircase. Although free broadband internet is offered corresponds to the quality / speed of the connection is not large German city standards. Host tried measures helped but only temporarily. However, a beautiful view both day and night makes up for. However, the outlook must be paid generally with a steep climb from the Castro station of the Muni, and therefore not suitable for older people, even with Car Rental, San Francisco has a very restrictive parking management, also to a collared parking must probably climb and the parking / driving away must be carefully planned (at night / on weekends, otherwise than two hours in the same place or not). All in all we recommend the accommodation further.
beautiful top floor with a fantastic view of San Francisco! Nick and Laurence are wonderful hosts. The neighborhood is safe, the apartment is well served by public transport. I would certainly stay here again and can recommend the best accommodation. Thank you for the wonderful days
An original room and very very nice. Comfort! Beautiful deco and premium ... amazing views of the bay. We had a very nice stay in lawrence in this room very romantic. The house is a Victorian charm. In short, sublime place imppeccable, large, quiet ... perfect for a couple. Lawrence did everything to help its guests and the best advice while respecting maximum privacy. Another place that we recommend! And where we'd go!
We had a great time in the attic! It is a very spacious and comfortable place to stay, in a very nice part of the city (Castro), on walking distance of bars, restaurants and shops and good areas and busses and Bart. Nick and Laurence will help you to find your best way in the city and offer you a relaxing, cosy environment. The attic has a good quality big bed, great coffee/tea machine in the room and a microwave, so that you can preapare and have your breakfast or light meal overlooking the beautiful city of San Francisco. We stayed with three people and if you want Nick and Laurence provide you an extra bed. Want to get back there!
