Reviews of this property
We arrived late at night and I had second thoughts, but as dawn appeared I felt so much better. Chung met us with a cup if tea and we settled in. It is a short walk to the beach, near buses, trams and the train into Melbourne CBD. You can rent bikes from St. Kilda Cycles and there is kilometres of trains along the waterfront. The house and neighbourhood is old and funky. The room is simple and clean. Chung let us hang our washing out on the line and we sat and chatted a few times. There is free internet, but you will most likely lose connection when in your room if you have the front one like us. We had no issues with noise being above the street. We had a great three days and would recommend this location for others.
This is such a lovely house to stay in. Big bedroom with your own bathroom. Comfortable bed. Breakfast, if you want it, is plentiful. Not far from trams, buses or trains which take you to the city in half an hour. A host who is more than happy to take phone calls, relay messages or just be a good source of information. It felt like home, but with a bigger bedroom!
Colin picked me up from airport in the middle of the night. Guesthouse is clean and located not too far away from the center. Cheers Bart
Really nice house in st. Kilda. Room was pleasant and both hosts very upfront in giving help on places to visit. Had own bathroom which was bonus - only really slept there as out most of the time.
We did have a very pleasant stay with Colin.
He was always helpful an friendly. We would stay with him again, if we came back to Melbourne.
Colin was a terrific host! A great source of information that made our experience better than we had expected. Lovely home in a great neighborhood.

Reviews for this host's other properties
We stayed in Colin's double-story terrace house for 4 nights. We weren't "at home" a lot, but when we were it was relaxing and comfortable. There are a lot of public transport options, and also a lot of choice for eating out. Colin will provide breakfast for $7 pp which is very reasonable, and he is very helpful.
Balaclava station is a 5 minute walk for quick access to the city; or alternatively you can catch #16 tram to explore St Kilda esplanade, and from there take #96 light rail to the city, or Sth Melb market, or all the way to East Brunswick if you want. We found a good Indian restaurant nearby on Chapel St; and we also had an excellent "Thursday night special" at Karen Martini's restaurant "Mr Wolf", which is a 10 minute walk straight down Inkerman St.
Overall, a comfortable and well located home.
