Prime location - Bairro Alto 1B

This is a modern and cozy apartment, full of character and light, set on the first floor (Drto) of an ancient typical Lisbon building in the trendy and vibrant Bairro Alto, known as one of the most attractive and picturesque areas of the Lisbon’s city center. This apartment is part of a group of 7 apartments that we have in this building.
The apartment has one bedroom with a double bed, and a double sofa bed in the living room, a nice bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, ready to cook home made meals. Towels and linens at your disposal are included in the price and satelite Tv and wireless internet as well.
To set forth on a discovery of Lisbon, there is no better place to begin: the tram a few steps away, international brand shops at Chiado and the more daring fashions in Bairro Alto, where you also have the trendiest restaurants of Lisbon. Bica neighbourhood, close by, is becoming a night haven for artists and intellectuals. But this does not destroy the calm and charm of Rua das Chagas. For theatre and opera lovers there are three theatre houses at a five minute distance, S. Carlos, S. Luiz and Trindade Theatres.
Chiado is where Lisbon's history and urbanity meet. This tourist area of the capital begins at the Brasileira café, on Rua Garrett. Opened in 1905. It´s one of Lisbon's postcards. On the side walk café you will find the different urban tribes and a statue of poet Fernando Pessoa, who offers his lap for tourist photos.
Next to it, two churches remind the vanished towers of Santa Catarina Gate. The Church of Loreto, built in 1528 by Italians living in Lisbon, was partially destroyed by the 1755 earthquake, but later rebuilt and one of the places to visit on Chiado. The Church of Encarnação, inaugurated in 1708, was also hit in 1755 and rebuilt later. But Chiado has more than just two churches to see.
Luís de Camões square, which any Lisboner will call Largo Camões, is not just a passing place. Sit on the steps of the poet's monument and enjoy the bustle that Chiado has.
But do not leave Chiado without inquiring about the theatres. São Luiz Municipal Theatre was one of Lisbon's first cinemas. Today it is a municipal theatre with a rich and varied programming. Also glimpse the Teatro Trindade and the S. Carlos Opera House.
This is one of the city´s best shopping areas. You will find international brand shops (Hermès and Hugo Boss, for example) and great Portuguese designers like José António Tenente (Tv. Carmo, 8) StoryTailors (Cç. Do Ferragial, 8) or Atelier Alves/Gonçalves (Tv. Guilherme Cossul, 16).
It is not difficult to come across public figures, mainly artists. There are several art schools in the area, like the Fine Arts Faculty. Even if you are not an expert, venture into the Chiado Museum - National Museum of Contemporary Art (Rua Serpa Pinto, 4) besides well-cared exhibitions, it has a pleasant patio to have lunch or simply sip a coffee. There is also a big offer for meals: Café Royale, New Wok and Kaffee Hause are excellent choices.
Walk the streets with care, the movement on the sidewalks is always heavy and the trams are constantly passing.
You are in Lisbon. And Lisbon never stops

Reviews for this host's other properties
Nice apartment in great location in the city. The apartment is in a nice neighborhood with lots of restaurants, cafes and small boutiques, very charming and cozy! In the evening there are many people on the streets, so that you can hear it in the front room. The house is quite old and noisy. We heard the upstairs neighbors, but have not really 'suffer' from it. The apartment is situated on a hill, so you have quite a few stairs and steep roads on and off, but you can not avoid in Lisbon! Great starting angle for all the attractions in and around the city. The apartment was nicely furnished with two double bedrooms, a small bathroom, sitting room and a kitchenette. Facilities were fine, although there was now something with the drain, but there would be a handyman to look. The apartment is very cool, so that's probably good for the summer. Wifi did indeed good. Tip for travelers to Lisbon: buy a type of chip card ("Viva Viagem"), this can be bought from vending machines at metro stations. The card costs 50 cents and can be easily recharged in the machine and at various kiosks. This card can be used in metro, tram, bus and lifts (funiculars), it saves a lot of money and hassle!
Very good place to be! in the middle of all the restaurants, cafe's. but still a very quite clean place, good voor starting the day!
The hostess was very kind, helped us with everything.
we were with 4 persons and thad was all right.
We had an amazing stay in Lisbon. The flat was perfect and everyone welcomed us warmly. We loved the beatuful view over Lisbon and the wonderful atmosphere in Gracia! Thanks a lot!
We had a perfect stay in Tiago's apartment, the location was perfect and the decaration in the apartment is really nice, old building refurnished.
Fantastic Duplex in the heart of Bairo Alto ! Very clean, comfortable. And Carla is a very friendly person. She gave us very good adress (not touristic) !!
very good place to stay in Lisbon. Apartment very well located, quiet, comfortable. Warm and very attentive.
très bon endroit pour séjourner à Lisbonne. Appartement très bien placé, au calme, confortable. Accueil chaleureux et tout à fait attentionné.
Spacious accomodation in the heart of the Bairro Alto. Many opportunities to eat and drink around the corner and a fifteen minute walk will get you into the city centre. On the downside, the surroundings can be a little noisy at night from neighbouring cafes. Still, an excellent place to stay in Lisbon.
The apartment was just perfect, cute and clean and exactly the right thing for 4 people. It is great located and very close from the main bar street and the metro station. I really suggest this apartment for young people who want to have a great time in lisbon :-)
The Landlort is also very helpful and nice.
Beautiful and bright apartment with nice wall painting. Located in the center of Lisbon. Uncomplicated and cordial check-in/out. We will certainly book again.
Very nice appartment, clean, spacious, nice design, the only downside is the streetnoise on friday and saturday night, so if your planning on an early night in go for an appartment higher in the building and not on the ground floor. We changed after one night and had the best appartment ever in the same building but totally quiet! It's also a good option to just join the party at night outside because it's a great atmosphere out there with very good cocktails and nice music!
